Sometimes I am but an empty shell,
Afraid with what I will be filled
I wonder who I'm supposed to be,
And what it means to be healed
I long for the childhood I never had,
Abruptly torn from my tiny grasp
I wonder who I would have been,
As the remnants of me, I clasp
What does it mean to be "normal",
To not hide behind this mask?
Everyday—all day long—
These are the questions I ask..
